Born in New York
Saul Marantz was a true pioneer when it came to hi-fi. He created the Audio Consolette on his kitchen table in 1953. Though he built 100 units, demand for the Audio Consolette far exceeded his expectations. Seeing the potential business opportunities on the horizon, Marantz enlisted engineer Sidney Smith to refine and improve subsequent editions and bring listeners closer to the music they loved. What began as a passion project at home grew into a fully-fledged business — the Marantz Audio Company.
Dedicated to Musicality
About 115 miles northeast of Tokyo, Japan, you’ll find the city of Shirakawa. Located at the foot of the Nasu mountains in Fukushima Prefecture, Shirakawa has Japan’s oldest public park, hundreds of restaurants, and a reputation for cutting-edge audio advancements. Shirakawa Audio Works has been Marantz’s manufacturing home since 2002. Each Marantz product is carefully crafted by talented audiophiles and engineers chasing the most musical sound possible.
Precision in the Details
Accurate details mirror the supreme accuracy of the Marantz sound. The perfectly finished surfaces, the smooth feel of a switch, the satisfying touch of a button — all these details feel right. Unwavering accuracy down to the tiniest detail: that’s what you’re getting with Marantz.
The Most Musical Sound
Marantz products strike the perfect balance between art and science. On the art side of things, you have the sound masters. These artisans individually balance and select components for their sonic qualities. They aim to bring the listener closer to the music, invoking Saul Marantz’s original sonic philosophy. From there, the acoustic artisans take up the science portion, tuning and refining the sound masters’ designs to ensure they deliver the detailed, warm, and spacious Marantz sound.
Iconic Design Built on Heroes of the Past
Timeless and elegant, the Marantz design remains unobtrusive, ensuring the focus remains on what’s coming through the speakers. The newest generation of products harkens back to the very origins of the brand; you can see echoes of Models 7, 8, 9, 10, and more throughout the lineup. This newest design gives you the visual appeal of heroic models from yesteryear with the modern sound you demand. The Marantz design combines all aspects of heritage and luxury through the finish and detailing.
A/V Receivers for the Finest Home Theaters
Magical sound shouldn’t be restricted to music alone: that’s why Marantz maintains a complete line of A/V receivers. The unique qualities and attributes of the company’s signature sound flatter film scores, special effects, and dialogue. Marantz A/V receivers are commonly selected for use in some of the finest home theaters in the world. They offer unequaled image quality for film and digital content, plus spectacular auditory depth and detail. When you’re searching for the very best in sound, reliability, and performance, Marantz is the way to go.
Pure, Powerful Amplification
Choose a Marantz amplifier and drive your speakers the efficient way. These amplifiers are the beating heart of a hi-fi system. As such, it’s critical that the audio signal remains free of noise and distortion to reveal the true details of an audio source. The Model 30, for example, employs a 2-stage design to minimize interference. Onboard HDAM technology helps further purify the signal before it’s sent to the outputs. Finally, most Marantz amplifiers come with built-in HEOS to connect and control devices directly from an app.
