Vintage Console Magic That Fits In Your Go Bag

The Soyuz Launcher has been a hit at Sweetwater since its introduction in 2019. Now, Soyuz takes it to the next level with the Launcher Deluxe. Like its single-channel predecessor, the 2-channel Launcher Deluxe is an in-line mic preamplifier that punches up dynamic and ribbon mics with a 26dB boost of colorful gain. But in addition to the original Launcher Mode, Launcher Deluxe features a separate, passive Saturate Mode that bypasses the gain and imparts classic Launcher punch, color, and vibe to condenser mics and line-level signals. Beefed by four custom hand-wound toroidal transformers, Launcher Deluxe enhances studio productions and live sound with juicy vintage color and saturation. Like a prized vintage analog console, the Soyuz Launcher Deluxe is a secret elixir for revitalizing iron-poor mic signals, tracks, and mixes. Keep one in your go bag — you never know when you’re going to need it!

Two channels, two modes, killer sound

The original Launcher has found favor with sound-savvy engineers, producers, and artists. But it’s only natural to want more of a good thing. So, Soyuz responded to user requests for a second channel and the ability to handle line-level signals. Enter Launcher Deluxe. It not only adds a second channel of in-line mic preamplification for convenient stereo operation, but it’s also a line-level saturator, which makes it capable of transforming any signal from lackluster to magnificent. The Launcher Deluxe features two individually selectable modes, each with its own separate signal path. The original Launcher Mode, which requires phantom power, is designed for dynamic and ribbon mics, and boosts the signal by 26dB while adding vintage color and saturation. The passive Saturate Mode (which allows phantom power to pass through) is designed to handle condenser mics and line level signals. It therefore bypasses the gain stage, but still imbues signals with the inimitable, authoritative Launcher color and vibe.

Rediscover your dynamic and low-output ribbon mics

Rocking the big stages or recording at home, the Soyuz Launcher Deluxe breathes new life into your dynamic and low-output ribbon mics. Yes, we’re talking gain — a robust 26dB of it — but along with that comes a sonic transformation, converting what would be a bland recording into a vibrant one that aggressively blasts out of the speakers with weight and authority. The Launcher Deluxe works its magic with virtually any interface or preamp, boosting and optimizing the sound of your source while attenuating the audible noise in your signal chain.

Punch up your condenser mic and line-level signals

In addition to the second channel, Soyuz has added the ability to perform its sonic magic on condenser mics and line-level signals to the Launcher Deluxe’s feature set. Now, you can use this invaluable in-line device to prop up the adequate but uninspiring sound of budget condenser mics as well as complete stereo mixes crying out for a little TLC. It all adds up to an indispensable studio and live tool you don’t want to be without!

Take your sound with you

Whether you’re a musician, engineer, video producer, podcaster, and voice-over artist, the Launcher Deluxe will take your sound to the next level. You don’t need a big studio to produce a big sound. On the road or in the studio, the Launcher Deluxe will get you there. What is the secret sauce behind its special sonic alchemy? What we do know is that its four custom toroidal transformers and proprietary circuits are the result of years of beta testing and feedback from musicians and engineers around the world. And that it’s one of Soyuz’s most closely guarded secrets!

Eastern engineering, Western design

The Russian word “soyuz” means alliance, and it signifies the partnership that is the driving force behind Soyuz Microphones. In 2013 American vocalist David Arthur Brown and Russian entrepreneur Pavel Bazdyrev teamed up and launched a company to build world-class microphones in Russia — a country where less than five percent of small businesses last more than two years. Since then, thanks to their outstanding quality and sound, Soyuz microphones have gained a foothold and are being used by top engineers, producers, and artists. In 2019, the Launcher preamp joined the lineup to rave reviews, followed by the Launcher Deluxe in 2022.

What’s in your mic locker?

Among the most cherished assets of any world-class recording studio are its microphones. Take a peek in the mic locker and you will almost certainly find vintage European tube and FET models made in the 1950s, ’60s, or ’70s. The “human-touch” manufacturing methods and discrete handwired circuitry of that era yielded microphones with sonic characteristics that are distinctly different from modern computer-assisted designs. Soyuz’s original tube and FET microphone designs — while not clones of vintage models — are produced in the old-school way, using manual lathes and drill presses and leveraging the former Soviet Union’s rich technological legacy as a foundation. So, what’s in your mic locker? The answer will determine the sound of your recordings.

What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Reviews

The sound quality of the mics and synthesizers just gets more appealing!
I purchased Launcher Deluxe to use with my microphones and synthesizer modules.
The Launcher Deluxe makes a $2000 synth sound like a $3000 synth.
The low frequency range is more powerful with clearer sound contours, and the high frequency range is more sparkling.

I have also used it with several microphones.
I enjoyed the color difference especially on brighter sounding microphones such as Lewitt's LCT440 and 441.
The addition of the soyuz color, which is rich in the low midrange, to these microphones is wonderful.
It is also good for adding a little color to a straightforward mic like Lauten Audio's LA-120. It brings the sound image closer.

The Launcher Deluxe is not expensive, considering that you will be able to use the synths and mics you already own, each with a different appealing character.
I am very happy with it.
Exactly what I was hoping it would do!
I purchased this in the hopes of running both my Fathead II ribbon mic along with my WA47Jr thru it to add some "Iron" before hitting my interface (RME Babyface Pro FS). Being able to switch it (per channel) for either a ribbon mic - which also adds 26db of gain - or having it pass 48V thru to a condenser (without the boost, but with saturation) is awesome. I write and record acoustic gypsy swing music and wanted some slight vintage color/warmth. I was looking at some 1073 clones at first, but decided to go with this instead... keep in mind I don't need anything driven to distortion levels with the music that I do. It's basically a two channel preamp with transformers and no controls - which I love as I won't be second guessing myself if I got it write or not ;). It adds a little buttery smoothness before going into my DAW where I can take it from there. Also, we'll use it live in my trio and run my dynamic mic thru one channel for boost/warmth and my rhythm guitarist's line-out from his acoustic preamp into the PA. I also love the aesthetic simplicity and that it's built like a tank. Soyuz had a great idea with this one. I smell a four-channel version coming (also wondering if they might get into the EQ game)!
Music background: Gypsy Jazz, Psychobilly (in a past life)
Magic Box…
If you feeling like this is a little pricey, don't worry, you'll forget all about it after you start using it. Amazing little box of wonder.
Great Opportunity
It's amazing to be able to use it with both dynamic and condenser mic. I love using Launcher Deluxe with my condenser microphones for vocals on saturate mode!
Soyuz Launcher Deluxe
This is the two-channel secret weapon.
You can boost a pair of microphones or even line-level instruments by up to 26 decibels and give the sound a wonderful mojo character and punch.
It gives dynamic and ribbon mics added depth and impact through its internal transformers.
The Launcher sounds anything but clean and well-behaved,
especially if you simply activate the Saturate mode.
This makes it a solid toolbox, even for condenser mics.
It's not cheap, but it also makes every sound really expensive, and that's what makes the difference.
