Its decent for a beginner like me

By David e. from San Tan Valley, AZ

It sounds decent. However, it does not come close to a real set. Its biggest flaw is the hi hat and crashes; the rubber makes such loud thudding sounds when hit or tapped, it overpowers soft hits at the high hat from my speaker, and even the headphones. Also be aware that they do not come with kick petals, despite the picture. I would argue the kick pedal should not be in the picture if it is not included, as i missed the small text in the description. I had to rush out to buy one

It a little beast!

By RIick from California
Music Background: Lifelong music creator

I've been making production music for a long time. I used to program my drums and just dabble in playing. I bought these. NOW, I just play the beats, fills, swells. It can play through all of your drum plugins like Superior Drums, Steven Slate, EZDrums, etc. For me, it's a huge time-saver!

Roland V Drum TD 07DMK

By Pete K. from DEPEW, NY
Music Background: Singer, song writer, guitar player

I don't play drums, but I wanted a new kit for my studio. After talking with friends who are drummers, the only name that came up was Roland. Both of the drummers in my band have agreed that this kit far exceeded their expectations

Best purchase Ive ever made!

By Luke

This is an amazing drum kit. I would happily pay double for it. The preset sounds are perfect. There are so many different features to this dum kit. The only problem is that there is no problem at all!

Awesome drum kit

By Sweetwater Customer from California

I've had this kit for a few months now, and it's certainly lived up to its name. The stand is very sturdy, and has a lot of room for adjustment to make the setup comfortable. I'm glad I went with the TD07DMK instead of the TD1DMK; the TD1DMK's kits are not customizable at all. Pretty much the only kits I use on my set are the ones I've edited in the 25 user slots. Don't expect perfection from mesh heads, they don't feel just like acoustic heads but they're still good. I don't particularly like the rubber kick pad on this kit as opposed to the higher end ones that are mesh. It is very hard compared to an acoustic kick. I recommend using a soft beater on it. The sounds in the module are great and span a wide range. One other minor quibble is that the ONLY output on this is an 1/8 in. headphone jack. I wish it had 1/4 in. out but that's alright. All in all, a very nice drumset. I highly recommend

Great overall, but Kick Drum Placement is Stupifying.

By Paul from Connecticut
Music Background: 50 years a drummer.

My service at Sweetwater is always exceptional, but my beef is with the manufacturer.

This is a case where Roland knows how to take much needed upgrades to a near dishonest level.
It's like planned obsolescence right in front of your face.

Knowing they mounted the kick drum on the right front support rail, they know full well that the pedal will be too far over to the right, so the make you pay an extra $ for a free-standing pedal, they call it something else, give you indistinguishable difference between the models, and take advantage of their customers.

Don't get me wrong. The unit sounds great, but things like this take away the luster from buying Roland products, because it's such a rookie move.

I remember back in the day when QVC first started. They had a guy selling VHS decks, and he actually said "This has an on and off south right on the front." I thought "wowie! An on an off switch!" This is the same thing. the kick pedal should be able to be placed in the center. Don't make customers pay for something that should be done right from the start.

For now, I will twist my body and the pedal to move it where I need.

It is OK should be better.

By John A. from Hueytown, AL
Music Background: Been playing music for half my life or better. Work for a living and know the value of a dollar. Trumpet(no longer) Guitar (quite regularly) and now drums.

I have had this set for over a month now and have given it a thorough lashing. It is of great build quality as far as the toms, snare, kick, and cymbals go. I have beat the mess out of them and they still work. The module definitely is where Roland sold their name on this set. ...they obviously consider this a beginners set for like some kids first drum set or something. I don't know about anyone else but I have to work for the things I own like, my house and the food I eat, I do not rely on the governments tit to get what I need and money is budgeted. The USB MIDI in VENDOR mode sounds really good, but you lose functionality of any audio interface you may have been using with your DAW because the TD-07 will have to take over as the ASIO driver for your DAW. The USB MIDI for generic must be bugged or something because I can get MIDI signal to register from the entire kit but only CC#4 is able to be programmed and it happens to be my high hat. Only one of the pre-sets seems to be of use right out the gate and that is #6 Punky IMO. It sounds more like a drumset than anything else. It has some fun pre-sets but their use would be very niche.
