Supro has just three pedals and I own two yet (tremolo beinh the other)they are both above average in the analog realm. I believe to compare the Volanate by Strymon as a a digital guide. Moreover, Strymon does an amazing job at replicating analog delay sounds. as a result, the Supro delay is rather clean for a bucket brigade style however it does the self oscillating thing if desired and the expression pedal input is an ideal feature for maximum control on the fly. The filter gives tonal texture that makes it sound less murky for BBC delay. It is really a really does an amazing job when sounding like a vintage tape delay.

Okay, I had no business blowing this much on a delay pedal I barely needed when there are many less spendy delays available, but .. just look at it! It looks like a freakin' little fire truck! If you saw it mounted on a wall you'd think it was a retro alarm box. Then I discovered it cops the best approximation of a Ventures-style '60s-space-age multi-repeat tape delay (Filter maxed to the right, Time at 3 o'clock, Repeats at 9 o'clock) I've ever heard from a modern pedal, and I'm in love!
And the darker tones at the left end of the Filter dial are perfect for subtle always-on ghosting.
The interior Trails and Dry Kill switches are labeled on the circuit board, just above the switch housings -- hard to spot, at first, so I'm pointing it out, since it's not mentioned anywhere in their documentation.
Nice quiet footswitch. The protruding 9v jack is a little temperamental -- some adapter plugs fit and stay contacted better than others -- hence a half-star off, and another half-star off for the odd design decision to put that plastic panel on the side (covering an access hole), keeping it juuuust that much wider than a standard pedal box, somewhat negating the elegance of being top-connecting. Same number of screws (4) to take the plate off as to just take the pedal cover off, so ... why?

I just wanted to say thank you for this awesome pedal I recently won at gearfest. Always the best service, products, shows etc.
This is a perfect delay pedal that can jump all over if you know your delay.

it's important to note this was designed by Howard Davis, creator of the original memory man. I've had soooooo many delays. The filter knob on this unit is incredible I can get dark like a carbon copy, medium like a memory man or brighter (while still analog and grindy). I can do U2 style delay or have it sitting just behind the mix for heavily distorted stuff. completely consistent between clean and dirty channels which is unusual but probably a result of the 20v internal increase. sounds amazing! if you darken it up with the filter it will oscillate like it's going to explode and if you increase filter to brighten repeats you can get almost infinite repeats without the usual exploding sound of analog delay. if you buy an expression pedal you can bend the time, oscillate into infinity or bring in the delay as needed. incredible unit!

I have been searching for a delay pedal that will stay on my pedal board in a nearly "always on" mode. I think I have found it. In the past I have used the big old TC Electronics Flashback 4x4 and then later sold that and switched to the standard sized Flashback. In between I got an MXR Carbon Copy. I still have both of those, but the issue is the TC Electronic device seems too"digital" and not very musical. The MXR, is warmer and more analog-like, but has annoying "ice-pick" sounds and just did not work like I wanted it to.

This pedal is warm, "analog-like", and very, very musical. It sounds "pretty". It also can give very nice "techno" sounds if needed. I also attached an effects pedal (the Boss DVP4 mini works well). This arrangement was nicely reviewed on YouTube, by Pete Thorn, which I highly advise watching.
The toggle switch in the center allows you to select which function you want the effects pedal to control and for me that is the "level" (which adjusts the wet/dry mix). I then leave this on most of the time and just depress the effects pedal when playing something that benefits from the delay/repeats. I then back off when that effect is not needed.

I play in a worship band and these kinds of effect pedals are used alot. This has so far been very satisfying. When I play alone by myself, the sounds are hauntingly beautiful and work very well with my Strymon Flint. A total endorphin rush, that makes me not want to stop playing.
The only negative thing I will mention is that there is a bit of hiss in the wet sound - almost like "tape hiss". I don't love it, but it is not generally audible to the audience/congregation. So far I am very pleased with this purchase.
