True Classic
Just start singing into a new SM58 and you realize why this is the standard. Feels substantial in the hand; very low self noise. The vocal tone sounds true and real without artificial presence or excessive bass. A true classic microphone.

This has been the best workhourse mic for my 50 years in music for the money, along with the 57`s. Comes with a stand clip and bag, I got the cable bundle, the cable is very thin, good for a backup and works, but plan on getting a quality cable, or just buy the mic separate. Cant go wrong with these mics.

Just What I Needed

Undeniably the BEST!
I have been using Shure SM58's for over 50 years, and out of those 50 yrs I still have 2 that were purchased in 1976. They have been used in clubs all over the US. They've been dropped so many times I can't even estimate, they've had alcohol spilt on them, they've been left outside in a cold and hot trailer for weeks at a time, and the list goes on and on. I have 100% confidence that the next time I plug them into a mixer they will perform as good as if I just bought them. There are Mic's out there for hundreds of dollars more that I would pass by and pick up a SM-58 every time. Dollar to dollar, there isn't a microphone out on the market better, HANDS DOWN!

This is my first Shure microphone and I can't seem to let it go. I have used other mics in the past, but after using the SM58 I realized that they were in a word "wannabes ". Many of them are fakes posing as a Shure SM58. When I compared it to the Samson Meteor Mic it won hands down. I sung "A Change Gonna Come" to test both mics. Everyone loved the vocals on the Shure SM58 better. The sound was richer, fuller and more dynamic. I bought this mic so that I could grow into it. It is a mic for nearly all occasions. You will never go wrong by getting one.

Good mic Cable just OK
The SM58 is an industry standard vocal mic. I'm not sure much needs to be said here about that. A solid mic for a reasonable price. The cord that it came bundled with left me less than excited. I typically buy the ProCo cables at Sweetwater, but thought Shure would probably make a pretty good cable to be included with their mic. Not impressed. The cord feels light weight and doesn't hang nicely from the mic stand. The quality of the wire itself just doesn't seem anywhere near as nice as the ProCo cables. The cord was pretty cheap with the mic, but I'd probably opt for the mic alone if I did it again. It does function properly though. My two cents.
