Solid performer

By Tyrebyter from New Mexico
Music Background: Amateur on my best days

Use mostly for Zooming music lessons. Perfect layout with headphone and instrument jacks up front. Easy to use control layout. Replaced an older Presonus interface to get more gain for an Audio Technica BP40.Sound quality is very good on both mic and instrument. Unit requires more power than older one, which may be due to better preamps...just a guess. One basic function is only available through the associated software: monitoring the inputs through headphones can only be enabled in the soft console. Irritating, but I'm over it and it's a one time setting. This interface is very good at what it does. Highly recommended.

Didn't work for me-Sweetwate went extra light year to help

By Elizabeth M. from Mastic Beach, NY

I had a lot of trouble with this product. The first unit was defective -wouldn't power on. The second unit would not keep the connection to any of the three DAWS I installed.

Despite the extreme efforts of the Sweetwater tech staff, this product would not reliably interface with my computer.

Sweetwater went over the top to make this work. THey even set up my spark amp to be the interface

A Nicely Featured Interface

By Dale N. from Illinois
Music Background: Voice Over Talent

I picked up the Quantum ES2 as a replacement to the PreSonus Revelator which never played well in my audio chain. The Quantum ES2 has performed perfectly. I love the design with the mic inputs in the rear of the unit. That makes cable routing a breeze. The flatter wedge shape is ergonomically more comfortable to use than the rectangular boxy shape of other interfaces. Everything is visible from the top of the unit. It has an off/off button on the back of the unit. I don't like leaving my gear powered up. And honestly I really like the auto-gain feature (btw the unit also features 75db of gain) and use it quite a bit. In the months it's spent on my desk, I don't have a con. Sadly this unit may soon be discontinued as Fender has introduced a new series of Fender Quantum interfaces that return to the boxy rectangular shape. So I may grab a 2nd ES2 for a back up.

Gets the job done!

By Rodolfo G. from Laredo, TX

This is a simple but powerful audio interface that works great with almost any daw of your choice.

I've been using the Presonus Quantum ES 2 for a couple of weeks now to track some guitars and it is very good at it. No humming, no background noise and no unexpected surprises. I have already pumped out 2 songs using this bad boy and have found it to be quite useful and surprisingly easy to use.

I like the slanted design making it easy to see your input levels at any angle. The LEDs are dimmable so they won't hurt your eyes in the dark and that's a plus! Mute your monitors with a push of a button and easily adjust your levels using the auto gain so you won't have to worry about it when you're on the go.

The only thing I suggest you look out for is the c cable. If you have an older computer without a C port, then you might need an adapter since the included cable has usb c on both ends but don't let that discourage you from missing out on this wonderful interface.

So far, so good

By Mark M. from Anderson, IN
Music Background: Trumpet player, retired music professor, audiophile

Works fine with my windows 11 laptop and Mixbus software. My old v.1 Focusrite Scarlett was having trouble connecting with windows 11 (ok with windows 10 on my old laptop). Audio quality is great and no problems with the computer finding the interface.

beautiful unit....not happy

By Joseph G. from Arvada, CO

Running this on a MacBook pro m3. It works great when it works. If I unplug it and take my laptop away for a bit it refuses to recognize it every time I try to reconnect it. I'm so sick of junk gear that you can't just connect. It has to be an account and an app to run it and none of it works. Oh OK deinstall and reinstalled. Try 2nd time. Now it works. Wow how inspiring. Oh darn had to take my laptop today. Back to square one. Wont connect. Really in the mood now. If I was touring or performing regularly I would be pissed off if I bought this. Crap software, little support, will let you down right when you need it, and super disappointing.

Fills the bill

By Peter B. from Oxnard CA
Music Background: Aging hippie

I bought the Quantum ES to fulfill a very particular purpose. I had a gig coming up I needed to practice for, but I was also out of the house for the week preceding. I wanted a box that would allow me to plug in a bass, a mic, and a set of cans and be able to either play back an Apple Music playlist or a Studio One session from my laptop, making for a very small setup easily transportable but powerful enough to get some real work done. Because of the way Loopback is implemented, the ES-2 makes this very simple. I'm already invested in the Presonus ecosphere, so I'm familiar with Universal Control. The UC interface for the ES-2 is quite extensive for a simple 2 in-2 out interface and allows the internal computer output to be routed to any of several destinations while still passing the inputs from the box itself. When I was using Apple Music I ran a Studio One session that included some vocal effects and a bass chorus to make things more fun. The dedicated guitar input works fine for bass but needs quite a bit of gain with a passive instrument. The ES-2 worked well and is now my main portable interface.

A producers P.O.V

By Partyman from Compton
Music Background: Music producer

I have the Quantum Es 2 I'm running it on a PC workstation computer I buy from Sweetwater,The korg M1 and the native instruments A46 are both my controlers. The soundcard over all is great but there are a few things I would suggest to anyone getting it..first off make sure that your computer has enough power to power the ES are it won't work..it will give you a red flashing usc icon on the face of the unit,So i then had to buy a power cube to connect to the ES unit along with a usb-c to USB cable in order to get enough for the ES unit to work. The other thing if you have a older model keyboard etc that uses the traditional midi connector ..guess what? That won't work either..you will need a midi connector that will make it possible to use the midi functionality of the ES unit.(Again consult your instrument and ES support manual) After 3 weeks ,a few additional pieces and a couple of calls to Sweetwater I was able to get up and running.
