Premium Performance for Stage and Studio

Whether you deploy it onstage or in the studio, the Shure KSM137 delivers premium performance. This end-address, small-diaphragm condenser microphone boasts a gold-layered, low-mass Mylar diaphragm for superior transient response along with a transformerless preamplifier for super-transparent audio reproduction. The KSM137’s highly consistent cardioid polar pattern offers exceptional isolation, while a built-in subsonic filter eliminates unwanted low-frequency rumble. A 3-position pad and a 3-position highpass filter round out the KSM137’s impressive feature set. The KSM137 possesses the coveted trifecta of versatility, durability, and precision, making it an excellent choice for live and studio applications alike.

Superior build quality ensures top-shelf sound

Over 90 years of mic-building experience went into the KSM137’s design, and it shows. Its super-thin, 2.5-micrometer, 24-karat gold-layered, low-mass Mylar diaphragm exhibits superior transient response, while its Class A, discrete, transformerless preamplifier yields incredible transparency, lightning-fast transient response, near-zero crossover distortion, and minimal harmonic and intermodulation distortion. Premium electronic components, including gold-plated internal and external connectors, add to the KSM137’s superior build quality.

A secret sonic weapon with pro-level features

The Shure KSM137 is jam-packed with the pro-level features you’d expect from a microphone of this caliber. A built-in subsonic filter eliminates the sub-17Hz low-frequency rumble caused by mechanical vibration. You also get a 3-position pad (0dB, -15dB, and -25dB) for handling high-SPL sources plus a 3-position highpass filter switch for counteracting proximity effect and reducing stand-vibration noise. At Sweetwater, we’ve found the KSM137 to be a top performer — a serious sleeper hit — on acoustic guitars and drum overheads. If you’re looking for a secret sonic weapon, then the KSM137 definitely fits the bill.

Reviews

KSM 137
A great microphone. I have inly used it for Acoustic Guitar so far. It has great side and rear rejection with little to no bleed from other sounds in the room.
I have been recording a singer songwriter and my other mics, one being a Shure SM57, the bleed from the 57 picked up to much of the singer. KSM 137 did the trick. A side note the Shure 55 (Elvis type Mic), has great side and rear rejection.
You will not regret getting the KSM 137

Small But Mighty
This small condenser mic fits the bill. I record an acoustic grand piano. My Steinway"s volume is big to say the least with all those frequencies! While I don"t know much about sound equipment I do know how my piano should sound. David M, my rep at Sweetwater, knows how to get the equipment for me at a price I can actually afford.

My final thought that any prospective customer should know is that the support after the sale is primo here and a reason I buy here rather than a big store.

Clean and Clear
Happy with these mics in a big way! Extremely clean and clear that how they sound!!! I also like how small they are... very handy! I have four of these great mics and what ever I put them infront of they sound fabulous!!!!

My cymbals sound crystal clear in the front of house.
Over the years I've used a variety of mics as drum overheads in live situations. Up until now I've never been happy with the results. I have two of these, I use one as an overhead and one close micing the hi-hat. I could not be happier. This is the sound that I've been looking for. I use a variety of other Shure mics around the kit and I was hoping that this mic would do what I ask of it. It does this and more.
Music background: Busy working local semi-pro.
