I am very happy with my purchase of this sub. I didn't realize how much range I was missing with just having studio monitors. This thing can shake the pictures on the walls when it's turned up. Great buy for the price

I've had this subwoofer for a few years. It has performed well for me. The cost is reasonable and the performance has been great in my experience. I would definitely buy it again. I recommend it for a lower cost, high performing sub.

Day one review so will update if things change, I bought this to add some low-end to the Kali IN UNF system. For those of you who don't know, that Kali system has a desktop subwoofer that really is not a subwoofer, it handles more of a woofers/mid-woofer duty but doesn't hit the real lows. It is almost good enough. I use this system for making music as well as it is my primary listening system.

This thing has way more than enough bass to keep up with the Kalis and I'm very happy I didn't get the S10 as it would've been way overkill. When I was younger we always needed 12-inch or 15-inch subs but companies are getting so much better at making these small subwoofers crank and sound great. I'm very surprised.

Other pros are this has every input and output type you could need. I like the standby switch so I can leave the power switch always on and it will just go into standby with no signal. I was getting a little bit of noise and the ground lift switch took care of that.

Cons, as with most subwoofers the controls are on the back so I have to keep getting up and adjusting things then sitting back down again to see if it's good. The other mentionable is this subwoofer has both a low pass adjustable crossover and a high pass that goes to your monitors, but from what I can tell when I adjust the low pass it does not seem to adjust the high pass frequencies going out to the monitor system.

All I can say is WOW! This subwoofer was exactly what I NEEDED!

I purchase this KRK S8.4 Sub to pair with the Adam A4V Monitors. It has the requisite I/O connections for Balance Audio. I used an SPL meter per the manual with a Pink Noise track and dialed in the output level to match the A4Vs. In my setup, Sub under the desk, it seemed to like the 100hz cutoff setting but still playing with the settings. The A4Vs are dialed back -6db and the Sub level is about 90% on the dial. I might experiment with the sensitivity switch (set to normal now) but I noticed a higher noise floor when input audio is off. Its Tight. Its s great little sub for this small room. I liked the standby option OFF switch. I prefer the Sub ON when working. Its a heavy solid cabinet. Comes with a small thin pad for a desktop or shelf. I will end up raising it on some feet off the floor. Highly recommended.

I never before had a subwoofer so I can't attest for this one being the best, I can say with confidence that this one is a reasonable choice in terms of power and size for a home studio as most of us have (a regular room that used to be an office or a garage), and an excellent choice in terms of the just sheer quality and finish.

Now: YOU REALLY TRULY ABSOLUTELY COMPLETELY TOTALLY NEED A SUBWOOFER unless you want to put a mix out that has a COMPLETELY UNKNOWN LAND located in the bass frequencies.

And to really help you, I have to advise you on getting a BOSS Bass Equalizer GEB-7 (or any other bass eq, if there's any other out there that compares...).
This pedal will do boost and EQ together for you and help you see (hear) the unseen (unheard) bass regions of your mix.

Replaced my older KRK 10S with the S8.4. The 10" was to much for my small control room but the 8" is spot on. Very tight bass response and a perfect fit for my KRK Rokit 5. Kudos to my sales engineer, Ryan Holquist. He has been taking care of all my music needs for years. Great guy to work with. Very knowledgeable.

I bought a brand new 8" off eBay. I set this up within minutes and tested right away. I found my perfect volume for producing and mixing. Listening to music in my room on full sub volume is crazy. Shakes my whole room and rattle across rooms. Clean low end and very punchy. Very happy with my purchase and recommend.

I was wondering if I needed a larger subwoofer than this, but my room is small so I bought the 8 inch KRK, and I love it. The controls on the back make it easy to set it up for a natural effect, or to shake your entire house. It's heavy and beautifully built without being huge. Love it.

i'm not in a position to discuss the subtle elements of this product's performance, because i both have a non-ideal listening space and am just generally unqualified. what i can tell you is that this product is enormously powerful: at 50% volume, it is already delivering more than enough bass for my adam T7Vs. if i put the volume up to 75%, it would be an absolutely ridiculous amount of bass.

the unit has a professional look, is fairly compact, is easy to set up, and has a wealth of options. it does not come with a protective grille for the woofer cone, meaning it could be damaged by kids/dogs/drunk musicians - you cannot order this part from KRK or through sweetwater without a special order. i have mine pointed toward the wall in the mean time.

the only goofy aspect of this product i've discovered so far is that if you engage the handy standby mode, it takes longer than i would have expected to respond to incoming signal. so at first, i thought it was broken - but it turns out you just need to send sufficient signal through it for a bit.

I absolutely love this sub, it brought my studio to life, it's like a different studio now!!!!

Bought to compliment KRK ROKIT 5 G4 studio monitors. Capable of far more bass than I needed and this is the entry level model. Remember to tune it for your room and setup. Makes a very noticeable difference. Has the option for a foot switch bypass. Very happy with the purchase.
