Diverse Luxurious Workhorse

By V. C.
Music Background: Producer

Waldorf really made one incredible synth here, period. The design and amount of depth here is astounding. I chose not to do a review until I spent some time getting to know this synth in-depth. I have owned and loved it over a year now and its my most used synth in my studio and is also my favorite(hands down). I know some of people will say its not analog (blah) and I have read some other reviews that do not speak highly of this Waldorf, but I can honestly say its not true. This machine sounds immaculate and can sound as gritty as any other analog synth if you know how to program it. I also own the Matriarch, Prophet 6 and Poly D and some VST's as well, so I know first hand.

The interface is so well thought out and it flows so nicely once you understand all the engines. Being able to use Wavetables with the Kernel Engine plus import samples is flat out ridiculous! It has never failed me once and I feel I can create anything I can imagine.

The Fatar keyboard is of the highest quality and the build is superb and solid. If you are looking for an extremely versatile synth I highly recommend the Iridium KB. I have spent days and nights with this Waldorf and not one day have I second guessed my purchase.

When your ready to make the purchase of if you have questions I recommend my Sales Specialist Grant Garner. He has been the best part about my experience with Sweetwater and is the main reason I continue to do business with them over all the other companies out there. He is professional, down to earth and honest. I appreciate the level of excellence and commitment to service. Thanks again.

What else but 5 STARS!

By Zeph from New Mexico
Music Background: some movie music lately

sick man.. built like a tank, what the hell did they put under the hood? layers and layers and layers.... I think I'll have to just focus on this for a year or so. Thank you Jared Kalish for steering me to this one. A truly fun experience.

Nothing touches it

By Les f. from Texas
Music Background: Pro since 1989. Radio, movie soundtracks, commercial production.

I owned the desktop and loved it, Then Waldorf decided to mess up my finances.
My new iridium keyboard arrived and I've had it two days. There's a world of difference when the synth is attached to a keyboard and the action on this synth is greatness. A ribbon controller like on the hydrasynth would have been cool but in every other way, the iridium is the superior synth.
It has a depth that is unsurpassed by any other hardware synth yet it's so easy to get to what you need within just one or two buttons or knobs due to its elegant touchscreen combined with excellent engineering between the touchscreen, knobs, and what information is presented in any given screen page. This instrument is brilliant.
I own several analog instruments and if I had to narrow my instruments down to one, it would be the iridium.
Waldorf really has reached the summit with this one.
I cannot recommend it high enough and will say that the price may seem steep but it's worth every precious dollar.

The Ultimate Digital Synthesizer

By Karl from Cincinnati, Ohio
Music Background: Home Studio Producer

I owned the desktop version but when the keyboard version with polyphonic aftertouch came out I upgraded. This is the ultimate digital synth. There is no sound imaginable you can't create with this from scratch or by modifying one of the thousands of great presets. The polyphonic aftertouch is a dream, especially when you use it in a split patch. Some will say this synth is too complicated, but I find the big color touch screen coupled with the plethora of controls makes it easy to program. The only thing Waldorf missed adding was a second set of stereo outputs. Yes, some will say this a VST in a box, but the hands on control and polyphonic aftertouch keyboard make it much more. Oh, and it's built like a tank.
