Sounds great but comes apart too easily

By Mark from IA

The sound from this mic is great. It is built strong except for the three little plastic pieces that hold it all together. It falls apart when the pastor takes it off his head. I think I will put a couple very small zip ties on it to help keep it together.

Sennheiser HSP Microphone

By Alan F. from AIKEN, SC

Great midrange, not mudy at all. Lots of headroom.

Nice Sound but small in size

By Sweetwater Customer from New York

This mic has a nice sound and is the level of quality that I would expect from Sennheiser. My only complaint is that it small in size. I didn't think that I had that big of a head but this mic makes me me feel like I have a giant squash.

Excellent for outdoor performance!

By Sweetwater Customer

I regularly perform at Renaissance Faires, and this mic is excellent for helping to add some support to vocals in an outdoor setting where there are many sound bubbles and lots of ambient noise. The headset stays in place during performances even with movement around the stage. My only slight misgiving is that the headset mildly digs into the skin behind my ears, but that could be an adjustment I've not worked out. I haven't used this indoors, but would be more likely to use a mic on a stand to allow for more nuanced mic technique.

My go-to mic for indoor performance

By Adam W. from Princeton, IL

I'm a worship leader and a keyboard singer-songwriter; in both roles, this is my go-to mic for indoor work. It has great sound, low noise, and sits securely when I move onstage (which I do a lot). I use it with a Sennheiser body pack.

I've used several other headworn mics. The Countryman line had good sound, but didn't seem worth the extra cost. The Samson SE10x and SE50x were okay, but they had some self-noise, which seemed to get worse as they aged. They're earsets, too, with finer wiring and a more discreet appearance; but I kept finding myself fiddling with them on stage, adjusting the fit. If you dance and sing, or even just walk and talk, I recommend a headset. The Sennheiser ME3 is good too, and I use it for outdoor events when I need a bigger windscreen and don't mind the bulky appearance.

Right fit, right price

By Sweetwater Customer from McComb, MS

Love this microphone, it makes it so easy, it's not sliding off my ear or weighing my ears down, it sounds great and is easily adjustable. Would recommend to any of my musician friends.

Really Enjoying this Mic

By Sweetwater Customer from Concord, NC
Music Background: Minister of Music

For a mid-range priced headset, this microphone has done the trick for us. Good sound quality, seems to be strong build quality. My only concern is that the cable is hardwired, so we will see about longevity.

Exceeds Expectations

By Sweetwater Customer from Faith Lutheran Church, Redmond, WA
Music Background: amateur vocal, with some training

This was a replacement for a much older version which broke at a critical transition. The new headset not only is designed in a way that it fits better, but the quality of the mic is a noticeable increase, all for less money. In addition, for someone with hearing aids, it is a better fit and disturbs the hearing aids much less.

It took a little putting together of three heads to figure out assembly of the mic to the headset, but when it was completed, we noted it was a much more secure set-up. A few words, along with the picture, would have been helpful in setting it up.

We continue to use Sweetwater for our sound needs.

Replacing a Countryman E6

By Andy B. from TX
Music Background: Worship Pastor

Bought this to replace a Countryman E6 that had developed a popping sound at the connection point between the ear piece and cable. I was looking for a replacement with no known points of failure and since we use Sennheiser body packs, it made sense to go this route.

The sound quality of this mic is comparable to the Countryman E6 and seems to handle harsh consonant sounds a little better, specifically S sounds. It feels rock solid when worn, too, with its double over-ear design. It doesn"t have as much gain as the Countryman did right out of the box, but we can make that up several ways. We"ve used it now for 2 weeks and I"m happy with the performance of this mic.
