This mic sounds great! But it is not for people with hair or who wear a suit coat. It is very hard to get on with the 2 ear style. My hair (pulled back & tied up) gets caught in the ear hooks. It also gets stuck in my jacket collar when I move. I don't like to have to have help to take it on & off. I'll let someone use it who doesn't have much hair or isn't in a suit. The mic is good, it just doesn't work for me. I ordered a single ear mic & am much happier with it.

We had a Countryman for many years and it finally broke on us. One of the downsides of the Countryman is that it requires a lot of manipulation to get it to secure to your ear and put the mic in the right position. It seems too often it rubs up against a beard or just falls off entirely–and don't even get me started on using it between different people!

A few great things about the DPA 4066:
1. It wraps around your head. This is great for keeping it secure, and super helpful when using it between different people.
2. Highly adjustable, easy to manipulate and it seems to keep it's shape well.
3. Most importantly: the sound quality is amazing! It somehow added fullness and clarity at the same time. If you turned it down a little and closed your eyes you can't tell he has a mic at all. It replaced a 10 year old Countryman so I can't compare it to a new one but for us it was a leap forward.

A few cons:
1. No mic clip included. Really DPA? For such an expensive piece of gear you should be able to throw a few of these in.
2. It's a little bulkier than a countryman, both on and off the head. You don't notice it as much when it's on but one bummer is that it takes up more space in storage. I know you can squish it down to get it in the little pouch but we haven't had it long enough for me to feel right about that yet haha.
