Charlie Kim
Charlie Kim
I grew up studying visual art and painting, but around the age of 12 I picked up a guitar and it changed my life. I studied audio engineering, music performance, and history. One thing has been constant. My curiosity in processes and cutting-edge techniques in music production.
I hope to engage with my customers in an authentic way that helps them achieve their goals. Ask me questions about my studio! Talk to me about your latest music release. I’m honored to work with you as your Sales Engineer at this part of your journey.
As your personal contact here at Sweetwater, please let me know anytime I can offer help or advice.

What was your occupation before coming to Sweetwater?
Before joining Sweetwater’s team, I worked as a live sound engineer for music venues such as Lincoln Hall, Schubas Tavern, Subterranean, The Cubby Bear, and Emporium in Chicago. During the day, I produced and mixed artists and bands in the local area. I probably recorded and produced hundreds of records in the span of 5 years. I also took jobs as an AV tech working at high-end hotels downtown and private event live shows.

What in your background prepared you most to help your customers with their audio needs?
I am the best customer when it comes to music gear. I spend hours researching and cross referencing guitar and pro audio gear for my own studio. So when I recommend a product to a customer, I am living through that process with them as if it were my own personal investment. If I don't know the answer, I'll say so! And from there we can figure out the best solution together.
