Specialized aluminum voice coil manifests a crisp, open sound

By virtue of its custom-developed aluminum voice coil, the sE Electronics V7 lends a crisp, open quality to your voice and instruments but still maintains a natural sound. Enjoy excellent isolation and copious amounts of gain before feedback, thanks to the V7's superbly built supercardioid capsule. When we ran the V7 through its paces here at Sweetwater, we were duly impressed by its performance - especially for the price.

Integrated shockmount and internal windscreen ensure top-notch onstage performance

When you take the stage with the sE Electronics V7, you don't have to worry about handling noise. An integrated shockmount decouples the V7's capsule, effectively eliminating rumble and other distracting sounds. An internal windscreen reduces unwanted wind noise and plosives. Both red and black windscreens are included, so you can choose which one suits your personal style.

Heavy-duty metal construction and beveled spring steel grille

Built from durable zinc alloy, the road-ready sE Electronics V7 can withstand serious punishment. Its spring steel mesh grille is dent- and corrosion-proof. And, courtesy of the grille's beveled edge, this microphone won't roll around when you set it down. My new favorite mic

I bought this mic to replace a Shure Beta58a that we had lost. After hearing the vocals from my lead singer during the first practice I immediately ordered a second one for BGV and speaking. This mic sounds almost perfect with no EQ, has almost no handling noise, and almost no proximity effect what so ever. Normally, I hate the sound of mic voice in the PA, but with this mic it was actually enjoyable to hear myself through the mains.

WOW! 5 STARS ALL THE WAY

I bought this as a all around everyday microphone in place of the Shure SM58! They have served us well and looking the part. I do FOH and with all the acts that come through the door, the variation from The Spoken Word, Comedy, Acoustic Acts and Full Back Line Driving Bands. At SLBOH we are well stocked with Shure SM58's and Beta 58's so I know what we have, their sound and they are great microphones. Been around for decades but I wanted to try something else for myself. Heard great things about SE Electronics from Chris Arnold of Sweetwater and SE V7 proves him and them all true.

This microphone wowed me out of the box, It had crisp clear vocals that cut through the mix with little effort and minimal EQ. Simple fine tuning and it was good to go. Voices were smooth and warm with excellent clarity and not harsh or abrasive.

Had great gain before feedback and good noise rejection on stage live. Drummer singing on a Beta 56 kept asking me to pull back the the other background singer on the SE V7 in her drum wedge. The SE V7 cut through the mix very well.

I really loved the way this mic performed and sounded. Very natural in the house and monitors with great clarity. Really cut through the mix in the house and did a super job in the monitors. The artists loved this microphone and it makes my job easy. This is a microphone that should be in every mic locker. Its modest price... makes it affordable but what you get is a excellent microphone that goes far beyond that!

I have numerous microphones for many different applications and that is the purpose of a mic locker. Now if I had only 1 mic to buy and deliver the most bang for the buck it is hands down the SE Electronics V7! In My Opinion it is the most dominant dynamic microphone in the $ range and sounds great on vocals. It would also work well on instruments, guitar cabinets and drums like a SM57 does. The best choice is to use a SE Electronics V7x for instruments and the SE Electronics V7 for the vocals. Bottom line, this is a great microphone and the price makes it a sure winner in its class!

I Love This Mic!

I don't plan on throwing this around, so I can't attest for it's ruggedness when compared to the Sm58, but soundwise, I absolutely adore the Se V7.

It's a little brighter than my "non-super cardioid" sm58, but it has an umph to it that I've been looking for.

Karaoke Shootout Winner

I tested my new sE-V7 by taking it to my local Karaoke club where we put it on a stand next to a Shure M58. Various singers used it over the evening; others used the Shure. At the end, I asked people what they thought, and the concensus was the sE-V7 was more natural sounding, like we were listening to a singer in a small room with no mic at all. Also, and I concur on this, one vocalist said she felt she had greater control of tone and volume with the sE-V7. This was, of course, an unscientific comparison between my new mike and the KJ's old M58, but I thought it was encouraging. It's a keeper.

sE V7 just what I needed.

I called Bryan Campbell my guy at Sweetwater and told him the troubles I had with microphones- He said " I can get you a great mic ." Then recommended the sE V7. For it's responsiveness clarity and better-than-price-range quality. He was right on all of it. It is perfect for me as I move around the mic a bit while singing- It stays strong even when outside it normal sphere. I had SM 58s but this mic is my new favorite. I play acoustic solo gigs and often the din in the venue is -as to be expected. Now I can hear over that without using massive volume. My only negative is that I am not any better of a singer ...oy. Some things are beyond technology. RT
Music background: long time band guy covers originals blah blah blah...now a solo acoustic doink.

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?

Evan Mehre

Both as a singer and as a live sound engineer, I'm impressed with the value of the sE Electronics V7 delivers. Its smooth and neutral response handles any kind of voice I've used it on. Another thing I love about this handheld mic is its low handling noise. That's an absolute necessity for professional live sound production.
